Jim Hurst was born and raised in Ogden, graduating from Ben Lomond in 1966. He joined the US Navy in 1968, proudly serving on the USS Kittyhawk aircraft carrier. After serving 8 years stationed at NAS Whidby (Whidby Island, Washington). He then transferred to the Naval and then Air Force reserves where he served for 30+ years. He also worked at HAFB as a civil servant retiring in 2017 with a total of 49 years of service. He loved his job. He graduated from Weber State College with a BGS in 1983. He has always tinkered with woodworking starting at Mound Fort Junior High. He doesn’t have a favorite thing to make. He loves thrift shopping and is always looking for a treasure. He is a friend to all and genuinely loves people.
