About Us

For nearly a decade, The Local Artisan Collective has been bringing artists and our community together through handmade art, creative experiences, and meaningful connections.

The Collective was started by Stephanie Howerton and Jenny Venegas after years of selling our artwork at local festivals and boutiques. We saw a need for an affordable, year-round place where people could shop local and artists could share their work, teach classes, and build their businesses.

What started with the two of us quickly became something much bigger.

The Local Artisan Collective is what it is today because of the amazing artists who have believed in this dream and helped shape it along the way. We’re especially grateful to our founding members, Mike Hurst and Roxanne Vigos, along with the many artists who have been part of our journey over the years. Their creativity, encouragement, and willingness to jump in have made this community what it is.

Today, we’re proud to be home to more than 30 local artists. Every item in our store has a story, every artist has a passion, and every purchase makes a difference.

More than anything, we’re a family. Whether you’re one of our artists, a customer, or someone walking through our doors for the first time, we hope you feel welcomed, inspired, and part of what we’ve built together.

Thank you for supporting local artists and helping our creative community continue to grow.

Meet Jenny

Jenny is a former junior high woodshop teacher who married René, a 16th generation silversmith from Colombia. Together they create handcrafted fine jewelry and sell it at art festivals and through their business, Galleon’s Gold Jewelry, LLC. René also teaches silversmithing and jewelry making classes at The Collective.

Meet Stephanie

Stephanie has long-held a passion for giving back to the community. After graduating college with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology and Art, she did social work for over 15 years before starting her own business in the arts, Our Children’s Earth, LLC. She loves expressing her creativity while being eco-friendly and staying home with her children.

More Than a Store. It’s an Experience. Artisans offering classes, shopping, art supplies, crystals and walk in projects. No experience needed.
The Local Artisan Collective now features the work of over 30 artisans and offers a variety of monthly art classes and popular events throughout the year all conveniently located in downtown Ogden at The Junction next to the Megaplex Theater on Kiesel Avenue.
