Gaye Leatherow Hurst was born in Ogden and was raised in North Ogden and graduated from Weber High class of ‘71. She started crocheting and sewing Barbie clothes as a teenager and has dabbled in many different things since, excelling in all of them, just trying herself and her hands busy. She has made lampwork beads, tried her hand at glass fusing, mosaics, ceramics, toll painting, counted Cross-stitch, polymer clay and currently seed beating (I’m sure there is more). She likes working with glass, whether it is nipping pieces for a mosaic, making beads or stitching seed beads into an intricate pattern.
