Looking to make your own unique jewelry? Or brush up on silversmithing skills? Then this is the class for you.
What:
Join us for a morning of creating your own unique jewelry. You’ll learn the basics of jewelry making, including how to use different tools and materials, and how to create different types of jewelry, such as necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings. ALL skill levels are invited to class.
Class registration is for the class and use of tools and equipment. Metal and stones are extra. They can be brought from home or bought at the store at the time of class. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, you’re sure to have a blast!
This class is meant to be an ongoing class so one can learn new skills as old skills are mastered. However, if you wish to come to just one class, you are welcome to come. For one time classes, you can choose to make: silver band/ring, silver band/rind with cabochon stone, simple earring design, copper or silver bracelet with or without a cabochon stone and simple pendant with or without a cabochon stone.
Cost:
$40 per 2-hour class or 3 classes for $100. Class size is limited to about 4 so there is ample 1 on 1 instruction.
Ages:
Though the class is geared towards adults, mature teens and pre-teens are welcome to join as well.
When:
Every Wednesday at 10am.
Where:
Class will be taught at The Local Artisan Collective located in downtown Ogden, just a little south of the Megaplex at 2371 Kiesel Ave, Ogden. Private classes and parties are also available.
How To Register And Cancelation Policy:
Class is $40/per each 2-hour class. Punch passes are also available: 3 classes for $100. You can pay for the class in person at the store or on our website loc alartisancollective.com/event-calendar. If you are interested in the 3 punch pass, please pay for this class now and when you come to class, we will prorate the other other two classes. I do not know how to do two different registrations online. Metal and stones are extra and can be brought from home or bought at the store at the time of class.

About The Instructor:
This class will be taught by Rene Venegas, a 16th generation silversmith. His family was one of the first to arrive from Spain to the Americas. His ancestor, Felipe Venegas, was the silversmith for the early cathedrals in the Dominican Republic and stamped the first European coins in the New World. He has been teaching jewelry and silversmithing classes at Weber State for 15 years. In addition, he has been featured in The Standard Examiner, The Signpost, KUTV Inside the Story, FOX13 Good Morning Utah, The Salt Project and KTVX Good Things Utah.
